Shadow Beneath the Ice is a memoir-inspired novel about a boy whose childhood is shaped by loss, conditional love, physical and emotional abuse, and the search for belonging. Growing up in the shadow of fractured family and grief, Elias Callaghan carries a question he cannot yet name: whether love is freely given, or something that must be earned through silence, obedience, and survival.
